Green Mountain
Rug School

With more than twenty-five years of experience teaching students at all levels, Green Mountain Rug School offers traditional and contemporary rug-hooking classes annually, in June, on the scenic Vermont Technical College campus, in Randolph Center, Vermont. Classes range from wide-cut, primitive, and folk art to fine-cut, shading, pictorials, dyeing, penny rugs, and beginner's-level instruction. Teachers hail from all over the United States and Canada. Rug exhibits and a well-stocked rug supply shop are open daily. Take a slideshow tour of rug school and view our online rug school brochure.

Local Rug Hooking Classes & Hook-ins
For central Vermont residents, Green Mountain Hooked Rugs offers custom-wool dyeing and rug-hooking classes year round at the shop in Montpelier. Saturday afternoon hook-in gatherings -- offered the first Saturday of the month, October through May -- bring rug hookers together to exchange ideas while they hook in a comfortable setting, much like the traditional "sewing circles" of a past era (call ahead for availability).

Classes on a variety of techniques, instructed by Stephanie or guest teachers, are offered the third Saturday of every month, October through May.

Need some one-on-one instruction? Stephanie is happy to offer private lessons at $25 per hour. To arrange a convenient time, please email or call 802-223-1333.
