Green Mountain
Rug School

With more than thirty years of experience teaching students at all levels, Green Mountain Rug School offers traditional and contemporary rug-hooking classes annually, in June, on the scenic Vermont Technical College campus, in Randolph Center, Vermont. Classes range from wide-cut, primitive, and folk art to fine-cut, shading, pictorials, dyeing, penny rugs, and beginner's-level instruction. Teachers hail from all over the United States and Canada. Rug exhibits and a well-stocked rug supply shop are open daily.

Local Rug Hooking Classes & Hook-ins
Green Mountain Hooked Rugs offers rug hooking classes at the shop in Montpelier. These four-hour classes are $25 and are held the third Saturday of the month, October through May. Hook-ins are also offered on the first Saturday of the month, October through May. These free gatherings bring rug hookers together to exchange ideas while hooking in a comfortable setting, much like the traditional "sewing circles" of a past era. The shop is open for supplies during classes and hook-ins. See dates for classes and hook-ins on the home page.
